La storia si incentra su una coppia di anziani che cominciano a guardarsi indietro e a pensare al proprio passato, ripercorrendo tutte le tappe della loro vita da quando erano giovani fino ad arrivare alla loro vecchiaia. Due persone che diventano l’uno lo specchio dell’altra, proprio come suggerisce il titolo della canzone di Justin. Come già ti ha detto Blue, Justin Timberlake ha deciso di dedicare la canzone ai suoi nonni defunti Sadie e William Bomar, che sono stati insieme per ben 63 anni. Nel video, infatti, verso il sesto minuto, Justin compare all'interno di una stanza in cui si crea una sorta di gioco di specchi e riflessi tutti uguali: ballando prima da solo e poi insieme ad una giovane ragazza con una parrucca, è come se il cantante volesse rappresentare l’incontro simbolico ma non riuscito tra lui, che viene visto come un fantasma dinanzi allo specchio, e la ragazza/anziana che appare e scompare. Nel video c’è inoltre un rimando al recente matrimonio di Justin con Jessica Biel al quale il nonno – poi deceduto – non ha potuto prendere parte per motivi di salute: c’è infatti una scena dove la nonna si sfila la fede nuziale e la lascia scivolare del vuoto. Ad afferrarla è Justin ed il messaggio sembra essere chiaro: accoglie la loro eredità, l’impegno di condividere una lunga storia d’amore con la persona amata.

Blue non so se parli adirittura di tradimento, io ho letto che sicuramente il video è dedicato ai nonni di Justin Timberlake. In particolare al nonno morto di recente. Non conosco bene però il testo e non so se il testo sia collegato o meno col video.
